In our robotics and coding classes, we aim to equip our students with information and skills in information technology within the framework of international educational technology standards. Our curriculum is structured under the following themes to support interdisciplinary studies:
- Daily Life and Technology Design
- Computational Thinking and Coding
- Digital Citizenship
- Productivity
- Creative Design
Our plan is to educate individuals who are fully competent in using technology and information systems, capable of providing the right technological solutions at the right place.
Our curriculum introduces new technologies and encompasses education models that involve creative and strategic thinking, researching, planning, and designing innovative technological solutions that will enter our lives in the future.
Students design creative products to solve a problem in everyday life by selecting appropriate Information Technologies resources and tools and/or using them together. They understand different solutions to create automatic control systems, develop models by algorithmic thinking, and program by understanding different solutions.
Sporing
The Department of Physical Education and Sports conducts all kinds of sporting activities both within and outside the school. The department is composed of graduate teachers and coaches from relevant departments of education faculties, who are experts and experienced in their fields.
In the weekly curriculum, all classes have two hours of compulsory physical education classes. These classes aim to raise morally upright, healthy individuals in line with contemporary understanding, taking into account the developmental characteristics of the students.
From kindergarten to high school, besides providing teachings that ensure their physical development according to age levels, sports culture is also imparted to the students.
To track the students' progress and direct them to the sport they are most inclined towards, various physical measurements are applied twice a year. Various activities and competitions are organized to ensure that students remain active outside of class.
Throughout the year, inter-class tournaments suitable for age groups are organized to foster camaraderie among students, instill class and team spirit, and make efficient use of break times.
Sport is a social event. It plays an important role in the emergence of many individual and social behaviors such as an individual's ability to express themselves, assume a role within a social group, learn teamwork, and discover leadership qualities.
Taking these criteria into account, our school also conducts club and school team activities for students with advanced sports skills to evaluate their abilities. These activities are conducted under the guidance of expert teachers and coaches in the field. The teams are formed of enthusiastic and talented students in those branches and continue their activities outside of school hours.
The club and team activities conducted at our school include basketball, swimming, volleyball, gymnastics, and table tennis.
Music
The Music Department undertakes the mission of nurturing individuals who can bring melodies to life with their instruments and share them with others, aiming to cultivate individuals with rich music portfolios.
In our school, every student graduates by playing at least one instrument. Through movement, rhythm, and music, the goal is to bring out the creativity inherent in students, develop their auditory and verbal skills, and nurture confident, expressive, and creative individuals through music.
Our students have environments where they can freely experience rhythm and movement impulses.
Our music classrooms are composed of materials that make students feel comfortable and spark curiosity, and our lessons take place with the active participation of our students. Universal music understanding is reflected in Kindermusik classes in kindergarten, followed by solfeggio foundation and mandatory ukulele lessons in grades 1 and 2. Starting from grade 3, a compulsory instrument program is implemented.
Each student cannot change their chosen instrument until they graduate from high school and specializes in that field. At the end of the year, all instruments come together to present orchestral performances. Every month, a composer is introduced at our school, and during break times, students are presented with the works of that composer. Band, choir, polyphonic music studies, competitions, and shows are actively supported through the program.
Art
The Art Department not only aims to train artists but also works to bring out the creativity in every student, addressing their aesthetic, emotional, and visual educational needs, and enabling them to produce different solutions to the problems they will encounter in life.
No one can predict who will become a great artist in the future. Every student could be a candidate for an artist who experiments with new styles or creates new movements in art. In line with these principles, our school aims to reveal students' primary interests, desires, and artistic potentials by offering them various learning options in differentiated workshop environments.
Our lessons and extracurricular activities, enriched with 3-dimensional works, marbling art (Ebru), stained glass, decoration, ceramics, artist of the month showcases, exhibitions, and both intra-school and inter-school competitions, support students' portfolio accumulation towards becoming global citizens.
The Life Skills course curriculum is unique to our school. This program, implemented from ages 3 to 11th grade, aims to teach students how to earn a living, that real-life success will come from within, the ability to live independently, and the acquisition of skills to become strong individuals.
In the Life Skills class, various skills are taught to enable individuals to fully participate in daily life. Among these skills are personal safety, communication with others, communication with and sensitivity towards animals, feeding pets, personal care and hygiene, healthy eating, cooking, table manners and etiquette, environmental and garden maintenance, home cleaning and hygiene, sewing, knitting, transforming waste materials into new products, jewelry design, clothing design, and repurposing old clothes. These skills are taught using problem-solving abilities and aim to develop practical thinking skills alongside.
In Drama classes, the aim is to foster students' creativity, communication skills, positive self-image, and their ability to express themselves in different ways, while also developing their aesthetic sensitivity. Our school implements its own unique curriculum.
Creative Drama classes allow students to discover their existing talents, fostering confident, inquisitive, productive, responsible, free-thinking, original, participatory, and tolerant individuals. By actively engaging in creative experiences and collaborating towards common goals, students learn to use creative drama performances as a problem-solving tool, understand how cultural connections can be made through different types of creative drama, identify personal interests and skills and develop them through dramatic methods, and enhance their self-confidence through verbal, visual, and auditory expressions facilitated by dramatic ideas.
While applying techniques such as Movement, Pantomime, Imitation-play, Dramatization, Role-playing, Improvisation, Music-motion-rhythm, Storytelling-creation in our classes, we also place great emphasis on preparing students for life concurrently.
Apart from the compulsory course program from Kindergarten to 11th grade, activities such as text analysis, character creation, portraying existing roles, stage presence, theater knowledge, playwriting, and performance are conducted to reinforce students' self-confidence and develop their stage and acting skills.
